About This Game

This game takes about 30 minutes to finish, has no sound, and is meant to be played in one sitting (meaning, there’s no save function!)
Customizable Cards - Build a deck of ‘story cards,’ upgrade them to create new drafts of your poem, and perform the whole thing in front of a crowd. Each decision you make changes the story Homer tells.
Historically-Informed Artwork - I originally made this game for a 10-day game jam in 2023 using pre-made art, but remastered it in 2026 with entirely new artwork that I drew myself! Each image is based on real Greek pottery.
Maybe You’ll Learn Something - Learning? Gross! The game is meant to be enjoyed first and foremost, but I did include historically-informed nuggets for anyone interested in the subject. The Odyssey is one of my favorite stories, and I hope this helps make it more accessible to those who have struggled with reading it in the past!
Developed Live on Stream - I created this game partly to teach myself GameMaker, and fumbled my way through developing it (as well as drawing all the new artwork) on livestreams and videos. More than 90% of the development process is available to watch on my YouTube channel!
NOTE: This game includes spoilers for The Odyssey. (Though you did have 2,500 years to read it!)
