About This Game
**A student team project designed to deliver a ~10 minute experience.
The Silence After is a first-person atmospheric horror experience where you step into the role of a survivor wandering through the ruins of a world swallowed by stillness. Drawn forward by a faint and intermittent distress signal, you must navigate an apocalyptic landscape using only touch, intuition, and your rare synesthetic ability, transforming sound into shifting colors that paint brief, fragile shapes in the darkness.
Your surroundings are never fully visible. Instead, the world reveals itself through echoes: the creak of distant metal, the impact of broken glass, the crunch of debris beneath your feet. Each sound becomes a splash of color, outlining paths, obstacles, and hidden dangers. But in the suffocating quiet, you are not alone.
Twisted monsters roam the world; guided not by sight but by instinct and sound. To survive, you must stay quiet, stay low, and use your synesthesia to detect threats before they detect you. Avoid them by slipping through tight spaces, timing your movements, or using environmental noises to misdirect their attention. Every encounter is a test of nerve and awareness; make one wrong sound, and the silence will continue forever.
As you follow the mysterious distress signal, you’ll uncover fragments of what happened to the world, who sent the call for help, and what truly waits at the end of your journey.
