About This Game

Poverty is a calculus of losses.

The Laws of Probability is a short, intensely gripping narrative experience. You play as 13-year-old Adam. In the kitchen, on a sticky oilcloth, lie a few carefully counted coins. Your younger brother stands in the doorway, waiting for you to divide what little there is.

There are no sprawling quests or skill trees here. There is only a melancholic, overwhelming reality and the constant calculus of how to survive until evening.

What to Expect

Instead of traditional entertainment, this project is a digital exercise in empathy. Classic video game mechanics have been inverted:

  • The illusion of choice: Confront an interface that actively locks options and crosses out decisions right before your eyes. Feel the crushing weight of a situation where good intentions are never enough.

  • Paralyzing moments: When a sudden, critical situation strikes, you will face a relentless, ticking clock. Experience how overwhelming stress and embarrassment can rob you of your voice, forcing you into the worst possible scenario.

  • A silent struggle: Your stats, like Shame and Exhaustion, climb with every minor defeat. The system reacts with micro-shakes to the screen, physically translating the protagonist's mounting psychological tension.

Who This Game Is Not For

I respect your time, so let's be clear. Do not download this title if:

  • you are looking for hours of gameplay (this is a self-contained story with meaningful choices, but you will experience it in no more than 10 minutes).

  • you expect heroic battles and a "good ending." Poverty rarely writes good endings.

  • you are looking for cozy escapism (the game holds up a mirror, and the reflection is intentionally uncomfortable).

But if you are looking for mature interactive storytelling that tackles uncomfortable themes and stays with you long after you turn off the screen—pull up a chair.
