About This Game

One land. A thousand years. Every border based on real history.

Silesian Wars is a turn-based strategy game played entirely on a map of real Silesia. Every province is an actual gmina with borders drawn from real geographic data; the towns, castles, cathedrals and fortresses on the map stood — or still stand — where the game puts them. You don't conquer a fantasy continent. You fight over Wrocław, Opole, Brzeg and Nysa, and the rivers and mountain passes that decided their fates.

Play history era by era

The campaign follows Silesia through the centuries — each era a self-contained scenario, and a link in a chain you can play end to end:

  • Pagan tribes raising wooden strongholds along the Oder

  • Piast unification and the Mongol storm of 1241

  • The fragmentation into quarrelling duchies

  • The Bohemian crown and the Hussite wars

  • Habsburg rule, Reformation and Counter-Reformation

  • Prussia's conquest and the age of fortresses

  • Industry, plebiscites and the divided Silesia of the 20th century — all the way to the modern day

Play any era as standalone unit with mechanics unique to them.

Leaders with real personalities

Dozens of historical dukes, kings, bishops and warlords lead the factions — each an AI character with its own temperament: aggression, grudges, loyalty, greed, faith. Their difficulty ratings aren't guesswork; every leader earns its rank in automated AI-versus-AI tournaments before it ever faces you. And beyond the mortals wait the legends of Silesian folklore, champions like Rübezahl, Lord of the Mountains.

Orders together, consequences together

Turns are simultaneous: every ruler gives orders, then the world resolves at once. Raise and move armies, colonize the frontier, develop provinces, build markets and forts shaped by the terrain they stand on — then live with what your neighbors decided at the same moment. Diplomacy is a weapon too.

Bring your friends — or face the machine

Full online multiplayer: host a match or join over the internet or LAN, pick your seats in the lobby, chat, pause, save mid-match and continue later. Fill the remaining thrones with AI leaders of any difficulty, or just spectate and watch history unfold.

A living atlas of Silesia

Landmarks appear and disappear with the centuries — a wooden gród gives way to a Gothic castle, a bastion fortress, a coal mine. Hand-crafted event paintings mark the great turning points, and map views let you read the land like a chronicle: economy, armies, faith, danger.
