About This Game

Line Tower Wars is a lane-defense strategy game built on the classic custom-map formula. Every player defends their own lane. You attack by sending creeps, and they skip your lane and march down everyone else's. Gold buys either towers or sends, and balancing the two is the whole game.

Fifteen tower lines: five base elements, plus ten more forged by combining a pair of them. 105 towers in all. Wall off your lane, shape the route into a maze, and promote plain walls into real towers as the waves grow.

Sends run from cheap fodder that bleeds a defender's gold, to flyers that ignore your maze completely, to siege creeps that stop and tear your towers down. Killing a sent creep pays the defender a bounty, so a bad send funds the person you aimed it at.

Your champion walks the lane and raises every building by hand. Pick one of five at the start of the match. Last warband still holding a tether wins.

Modes:

  • Battle: free-for-all for 2 to 12 warbands. Fill the empty seats with bots at three difficulty levels.

  • Versus: the same free-for-all online for up to 12 players through Steam lobbies, public or friends-only, with overlay invites. Cross-platform between Mac and Windows. Both machines run the same deterministic simulation, and a desynced match is voided rather than played out wrong.

  • Text chat in lobby and in match, filtered through Steam's text filter.
