About This Game

One square. One rule. Many traps.

A Simple Square is a minimalist puzzle game where every move changes the level.

Choose a direction, and your square slides in a straight line until it hits an obstacle. But there is one essential rule: every tile you cross disappears behind you.

An open path can close behind you. An obvious route can trap you. To reach the exit, moving forward is not enough: you need to plan the exact order of your moves.

Easy to understand, demanding to master

A Simple Square is not about reflexes, but about reading the grid, anticipating consequences and applying logic. Each level is short, readable and built around a clear idea, but a single wrong decision can block the entire solution.

As you progress through the campaign, new mechanics expand the rules without betraying the simplicity of the concept: stop tiles, forced directions, keys, doors, teleporters, hazards, blocks and other variations that gradually change the way you think.

Create and share your own levels

In addition to the official campaign, A Simple Square includes a level editor that lets you create your own puzzles directly in the game.

Thanks to Steam Workshop support, you can publish your creations, discover community levels and extend the challenge with new puzzles designed by other players.

Content

  • 240 official levels spread across more than 8 worlds.

  • World-based progression, with new mechanics introduced step by step.

  • Short and precise levels, designed to be understood quickly and solved methodically.

  • A medal system to optimize your solutions and aim for the ideal number of moves.

  • An integrated level editor to create your own puzzles.

  • Steam Workshop support to share your levels and play community creations.

  • An Infinite mode featuring procedurally generated puzzles.

  • A Speedrun mode with timers, segments and leaderboards.

  • Steam achievements and leaderboards to extend the challenge.

Every move counts

The board looks simple. The rule takes only a few seconds to understand. But once you start sliding, every decision leaves a permanent mark.

Move carefully. The path behind you will not stay open.
