Zone de Défense - Paris

The Zone de Défense - Paris was charged with protecting the City of Light and its surrounding areas. Formed around a nucleus of reservists, the territorial formation counted on several regular infantry units, training units, testbed vehicles being prototyped, Gendarmerie military police, and Paris’ own Garde Républicaine to protect the French capital.



The Zone de Défense - Paris deploys a wide variety of units, from CONSCRITS to stubborn GARDES RÉPUBLICAINS, heavy BERLIET GBC 8KT trucks, mechanized GENDARMES MOBILES in AMX-13 VTT and VBRG APCs, BROUSSARD MH-1521 observation planes, and even elite counter-terrorism GIGN and EPIGN operators. The formation’s armored workhorse is the AML in various configurations, backed by reservist-manned AMX-30B2 and AMX-30B INSTRUCTEUR, as well as the rare MSC testbed, the prototype of the future Leclerc main battle tank.

DON-100

The Soviet DON-100 stood for 100-ya Motostrelkovaya Diviziya Osobogo Naznacheniya, or the 100th Motorized Division for Special Use, a Ministry of Internal Affairs formation seeing the light at the tail-end of the Cold War. Formed from the disbanded 14th Tank Division, the “Wild Division” relied on a large contingent of security troops. The battlegroup deployed to quell internal dissent and insurgent hotspots around the Caucasus and southern frontier of the Soviet Union, fanned by NATO intelligence agents and special forces in WARNO’s World War III.

The DON-100 field MVD security infantry in great numbers, bringing their own MVD BTR-80 APC, BMP-1 and BMP-2 IFVs, and even the PT-76B. KADETY MVD and local MILITSIYA police forces provide back-up, including OMON special police troops. Armored fist comes courtesy of the T-62 Obr. 72 and Obr. 75 variants, plus the T-62M (T2A2) fitted with an active protection system. First-generation Mi-24A gunships and Mi-8MT BERKTU-2 deliver close air support, protected by prototype MiG-29S interceptors.
