Über dieses Spiel

Steel Wolverines: Modern Armored Combat is a turn-based tactical wargame inspired by classics of the 1990s such as Steel Panthers. It brings their depth and unforgiving character to a modern battlefield where only seconds may separate detecting a target from destroying it.

Observe the terrain, conduct reconnaissance, and secure favorable positions before the shooting starts. Use forests, buildings, hills, and smoke screens to conceal the movement of your units. Find targets with scouts, drones, active sensors - but remember that using your equipment may also reveal your position.

Once contact is made, every decision matters. Armor facing, range, ammunition, terrain, and fire-control quality all influence the result of a shot. Even the most advanced main battle tank can be destroyed if it exposes its weaker side, drives into a prepared ambush, or operates without infantry and reconnaissance support.

Steel Wolverines keeps battles moving with time-saving turn mechanics. Enemy turns are automatically accelerated while no hostile units have been detected and there is nothing relevant to observe. Once contact is made, visible enemy actions play out on the battlefield, with manual fast-forward available whenever you want to increase the pace.

Build Your Own Battlegroup

Choose from more than 40 vehicles, including KTO Rosomak or German Boxer, then combine them with main battle tanks, infantry, anti-tank teams, reconnaissance units, drones, unmanned ground vehicles, air defense, and artillery support. Deploy loitering munitions such as the Warmate to strike valuable targets beyond direct-fire range.

Choose equipment and weapons suited to the mission. Defeat armor with APFSDS rounds, engage infantry with FPV drones, strike from long range with ATGM, and cover an advance with smoke. Reactive armor, active protection systems, counter-drone jammers, and multispectral camouflage can save a vehicle—but no defense offers complete protection.

Fight Standalone Skirmishes

Create your own battles on procedurally generated maps and play as either NATO or Russia. Select the battlefield size, mission type, time of day, weather, enemy quality, and forces deployed by both sides. Attack, defend, prepare an ambush, break through enemy lines, or delay an advancing force.

Forests, fields, rivers, marshes, roads, towns, and changes in elevation affect movement, visibility, cover, and detection. Every map demands a new plan and a different use of the forces available to you.

Create and Convert Battlefields

Create custom battlefields with the Map Editor, or use Real Map Tool to turn real-world locations into playable hex maps. Search for a place, select the size and framing of the battlefield, and convert road networks, waterways, satellite-derived land cover, and elevation data into terrain ready for standalone skirmishes.

Generated maps are automatically added to the skirmish creator. Recreate a familiar region, explore a real location, or build an entirely new battlefield for your own scenarios.

Fight a Campaign on the Polish-Lithuanian Border

The year is 2030. A NATO exercise in the Lithuanian lake country is interrupted by a series of incidents during the night. Unmarked troops cross the border, local skirmishes escalate into an open invasion, and the Suwałki Gap becomes one of the most important sectors of the front.

Take command of the Polish core of a multinational battlegroup and lead it through three acts of the conflict: from engagements with unidentified formations, through a defensive campaign against regular Russian forces, to a NATO counteroffensive.

Your decisions and losses remain with you between missions. Experienced crew members improve their skills, the wounded require treatment, and the dead do not return. Damaged vehicles must be repaired, ammunition replenished, and destroyed equipment replaced from a limited reserve pool.

Choose your platoon's parent division, earn prestige and rank, acquire new units, and advance through successive generations of tanks—from the PT-91 to the K2, Leopard 2, or Abrams. Complete optional raids to gather intelligence, unlock support, and weaken enemy forces before later battles. Victory in one mission may make the next easier, but unnecessary losses will burden you throughout the campaign.
