Über dieses Spiel
Seeking escape from life's vicious cycle in a Czech pub, where cards, beer, and crude humor reveal the mysteries of Czech cultural heritage. Play cards, immerse yourself in pub atmosphere, and embark on a journey of self-reflection in a game that captures the essence of Czech culture while holding up a mirror to society's relationship with alcohol. Each new game, each fresh pint reveals new clues, memories, and stories that bring you closer to understanding not only the mysterious disappearance, but also Czech pub culture and its darker sides.
How is Prší played?
In Prší, you embark on a surrealistic detective investigation into the strange disappearance of a regular patron, leaving behind nothing but a sweaty half-pint of beer. The investigation unfolds through the card game Prší - to continue dialogue, you must play a card.
In the pub, you'll meet six characters, each holding memories of the missing Franta. Their stories and your choices in conversations gradually piece together a picture of who Franta was and what might have happened to him. Each character plays Prší slightly differently, reflecting their personalities and relationship with the game.
The game lasts approximately one hour but offers replayability with different choices that reveal new aspects of the story and characters. Different playthroughs show how your understanding of Franta's personality changes depending on how you conduct your investigation.
Cultural Commentary
Czechia is the lead producer and also lead drinker of this golden juice. Czechs drink approximately 128 liters of Beer per Person a Year (based on 2025 statistics). We have a drinking problem and we should talk about it. The game balances social critique with elements of magical realism, drawing inspiration from works like Jan Werich's Fimfárum. Czech beer culture was added to the national heritage list in January 2025. Czechia included beer culture among its intangible heritage, paving the way for UNESCO candidacy - Prague, Czech Republic. It celebrates the tradition where Czechs consume more beer per capita than anywhere else in the world, while this source of national pride also might overlook the normalization of alcoholism and other socially problematic issues related to beer consumption and alcoholism.
